

I had fun doing this hand-lettered logotype for the Empty Bowls event at George Fox University. The art department had a marathon bowl-throwing session, and there will be a fundraising meal where you get to choose and keep the handmade bowl you eat out of.

Neat! My cousin founded the "Empty Bowls" movement - he would definitely approve of helping people in Haiti avoid starvation.
One of the things I love the most about Empty Bowls programs is that every time I use the bowls I've gotten from them, I think about people who don't get enough to eat (which, of course, is the point of the program). It raises my consciousness about an issue that I might not otherwise think about much.
